Coming from a long dynasty of musicians, Chiara Pellegrini has been surrounded by music, musical instruments and dancing for her whole life. Born in 1988 in Livorno, Italy, before finishing high school - where she has also got a Theatre and Drama Diploma in 2006 - she was playing French Horn, Classical Flute, Classic Guitar, Piano and Singing. Studying firstly Opera Singing and than Modern/jazz, she understood that her real musical instrument was the voice.
She has obtained a musical Diploma in 2012 at the G. Bonamici Music School of Pisa (Italy) with the highest grade. Subsequently she graduated with a Bachelor in Jazz Singing at the Prince Claus Conservatory of Groningen, (Netherlands) where she created various projects like Il Guancio, Carnalismo Duo and Chiara Pellegrini Sextet. Trough these bands, she promotes many of her originals compositions that range between Free-Jazz, Gipsy music, Funk and Ska music.
In the 2016 she moved to London and than straight to Lisbon, Portugal, where she haas been living, playing, singing and teaching during 5 years. Here, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Tejo River, thank to her multiple artistic collaborations, she got deeper in to the interest and love for the Brazilian Samba, the Portuguese Fado, the Bahiano and the BossaNova, starting a new chapter on her World Music’s experience.
All this traveling through Europe, doesn’t keep her away from Italy, where she still leads many other projects, such as the Chiara Pellegrini Jazz Quartet, MoreLove Duo and Chiara Pellegrini Sings Billie Holiday. Simultaneously in Lisbon, she collaborates with some incredible musicians with whom gives life to amazing projects such as Gondwana, Libê - Lisbon Buskers Ensemble -, LuArte and Kaíra Màyra and The Journey, in which she brings back the guitar.
The most important project of hers, is the trio FAYA, with which in 2019 she wins the Creole Global Music Award in Berlin (Germany) as Best Performance.
She has never stopped teaching (Modern/Jazz Singing, Introduction to Music for children, Music Theory, Ear-Training) as a freelance and as professional teacher in various Music Schools as the Escola de Música de Moscavide, the Académica de Música de Odivelas, the Colégio Cesário Verde and the Music Room School (Portugal).
